KEN WILCZAK TRIBUTE CONCERT 2024
DEATILS COMING SOON
March 2024
Febuary 3, 2023
“To all of the fans and followers, to all of the contemporaries and bandmates, to all of the clients and students, and to all of our family and friends:
Around 2am this morning my father, Ken Wilczak, left us all to go home.
Dad finally lost his multiple battles against a myriad of increasing health issues, but I hope that we all can find peace and solace in the knowledge that he ultimately won his war.”
“He loved all of you in his orbit, even those who maybe never saw it or thought so. A man of incredible fire and passion throughout his playing days, his only ask at the end was for there to be “no more fighting” and everyone to “find peace in their hearts.”
We are all in mourning, but we should and will celebrate the man he was when we are all together soon. In the meantime, we will keep everyone updated on final arrangements when they are decided and known.
Thank you all for your outpouring and notes these past few days, something that truly meant a lot to him and to us. He will be greatly missed and there will never be another human being like him.”
“As a final thought, I think of a passage from the book “Fahrenheit 451,” a story that he and I would talk about from time to time. I cannot say it was one of his favorites, but this passage came back to me this week and I thought it appropriate for all of us:
‘And when he died, I suddenly realized I wasn’t crying for him at all, but for all the things he did. I cried because he would never do them again, he would never carve another piece of wood or help us raise doves and pigeons in the backyard or play the violin the way he did, or tell us jokes the way he did. He was part of us and when he died, all the actions stopped dead and there was no one to do them just the way he did. He was individual.’”
